Wellbeing for Mob

Community-led Healing
& Local Voice

At Mamulbak, Social and Emotional Wellbeing is our foundation. We meet the community where they are, providing a living response to local needs, not a set menu. Our mission is to facilitate healing, rebuild kinship, and promote unity across the 16 language groups that call this region home.

Youth & community

Positive Choices Program

We support local people of all ages, young and old, to make positive choices that lead to a healthier future grounded in cultural pride, connection to Country,
and community support.

  • Minimising Risk - Activities designed to reduce risky behaviours and provide positive alternatives for youth and community members.
  • Healthy Hobbies - Encouraging traditional activities, sports, and on-Country excursions that strengthen identity and community bonds.
  • Future Focus - Promoting positive life pathways through education, cultural pride, and connection to Elders and tradition.
Yarning & safe spaces

Men's & Women's Groups

We facilitate regular yarning circles and workshops to ensure local voices are heard and respected, which creates safe spaces for honest conversation about health, family, and community life.

  • Safe Spaces - Providing a platform to discuss health, family, and social topics, including domestic violence prevention and suicide intervention.
  • Linking Services - Bridging the gap between the community and service providers, counsellors, and clinicians where they're needed.
  • Advocacy - Representing grassroots aspirations to government and funding bodies, and ensuring community voice shapes policy.
Healing on Country

On-Country Healing & Respite

We believe that true healing happens through connection to land and spirit. Country is medicine, and our programs bring people back to it.

  • Homeland Camps - Organising logistics and transport for family groups to return to Country for respite and cultural exchange.
  • Healing with Nature - Utilising our unique connection with dingoes and Country to provide spiritual and emotional relief.
  • Knowledge Sharing - Creating opportunities for Elders to share traditional knowledge with younger generations in a safe environment.
Work & enterprise

Employment & Social Enterprise

Wellbeing includes the dignity of work and the opportunity for growth. We create jobs that value tradition and expertise, while supporting pathways for Indigenous economic independence.

  • Cultural Advisors – We employ local people as cultural advisors, providing sustainable jobs that value and honour traditional knowledge.
  • Training Pathways – Work-ready programmes in eco-tourism and land management, creating sustainable careers rooted in Country.
  • Artist Support & Shop – We promote unsung local artists and aim to provide a space to showcase and sell art, craft, soap, pottery, bush jams, chutney, and other locally made products. This will complement, not replicate, the work of existing local art centres.
